Hallstatt

This is a lovely little town at the Austrian Hallstättersee, set beautifully between mountains directly at the refreshingly cold lake. We took the funicular railway up the salt mountain to enjoy the view and learn how salt has been mined there since almost forever. A valley behind the town features a waterfall and plenty of opportunities to get lost (literally) in its charming landscapes.
