Skyline, High Line and a new friend – what a start to our big journey through the US!
Escaping the usual cold of early January, this year’s first journey took us to Barcelona, city of GaudĂ and his beautiful architecture. The Sagrada FamĂlia was certainly the most stunning of them all! With sunshine most of the time we enjoyed several views of the city, one of which was from Parc GĂĽell – quite touristy, yet well worth a visit....
Despite the cold we enjoyed a lovely weekend in Prague, strolling through its Old Town and alongside the river Vltava, always accompanied by the delicious smell of cinnamon from one of the ever-present TrdelnĂk stands. A lovely Japanese garden in the heart of Tokyo that was built in the Edo period and survived to this day. It features two lakes, a rice field, plum and cherry trees as well as the famous maple trees.
Our first day in Tokyo, Japan! We decided to pay the Meiji Shrine a visit. A very peaceful and quiet place in the middle of a buzzing city. To make the most of the glorious weather this weekend we decided to pay Southend-on-Sea a visit. With it’s extremely long pier, busy beach and nice coffee, Southend won our hearts over.
